We started Golden Hour to make professional photography feel like what it actually is — a collaboration, not a transaction.
Our Story
Photography that actually captures the way things felt.
Golden Hour Photography was founded in 2018 by Jordan Gold after seven years working as a second shooter for studios across Nashville, Memphis, and Atlanta. The name reflects something real: the hour just after sunrise or before sunset when the light is soft, directional, and unforgiving in the best way possible. That's the light Jordan chases. It's also the philosophy behind how we work — patient, attentive, and looking for the moments that don't announce themselves.
Casey Rivers joined in 2021, bringing a background in editorial and lifestyle photography from years spent shooting for Nashville-area brands and regional publications. Her approach to portraits is the opposite of "say cheese" — she builds rapport, creates natural movement, and gets the image that actually looks like you.
Between us, we've photographed over 200 sessions: weddings at Cedarwood, The Estate at Cherokee Dock, and Wild Turkey Hollow; brand shoots for independent restaurants, law firms, and professional practices across Middle Tennessee; portrait sessions for families, seniors, and individuals who've never liked having their photo taken.

How we approach every session.
Light first
We scout locations and schedule session times based on light — not convenience. The half-hour before sunset is worth rearranging the whole schedule for.
No forced moments
Posed photography has its place. But the images clients return to — the ones that go on the wall — are the ones where no one knew we were watching.
Your gallery belongs to you
Every package includes a print release and high-resolution downloads. We don't lock your images behind lab orders or expiration dates.

Lead Photographer & Owner
Jordan has photographed over 180 weddings across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia since 2016. Her work has been featured in Nashville Bride and Style Me Pretty. She specializes in documentary-style wedding coverage and natural-light portraiture.
Casey Rivers
Portrait & Brand Photographer
Casey joined Golden Hour in 2021 after five years shooting editorial content for Nashville-area lifestyle brands. She leads our portrait, headshot, and commercial sessions — and is the one clients ask for when they want images that actually look like them.
